Waddup everybody? Just a quick update on the “fungal acne” post I’ve promised everyone: it’s 3 AM and I’m still doing research/writing it, and I have to be up for work in a few hours. This has basically been my life for the past two months. Haha
BUT DAMN AM I EXCITED FOR Y’ALL TO READ DIS SHIT!
It’s gonna literally go over EVERYTHING about malassezia and how to treat it, with LOADS of skincare tips thrown in the mix for a double-whammy-killing-fungal-acne combo.
I’m truly humbled with how much I’ve learned in the past month or so from devouring the latest research on this stuff.
I hope everyone is well, and sorry for the lack of newsletters (and posts) lately! All my emails have been going to spam, so I stopped sending them out. I need to figure out how to fix this. But in the meantime, be well!
Warmly,
—f.c.
I can’t wait either ! You’re so awesome to do all this research to help others . Thank you 🙂
Looking foward to it!
Cant wait!
Yay a new post! I’ve found your blog some time ago when you research Korean skincare products. I am into Korean skincare, but I already read all the posts that interested me on TheKlog.com and PeachandLily.com and I was sad there was nothing left for me to read here. 🙁
This is the first time I am commenting here, so I would like to say that you do a good job. I am impressed how scientific your posts are. I thought I was pretty knowledgeable about skincare versus the average person, but the stuff you are explaining here is another level. It reminds me of high school chemistry class and I go “whoa I don’t remember this stuff. My brain hurts,” but I still have fun reading your posts. They are very helpful and hilarious.
It is amazing how the right products and routine can transform your skin. I do not have the same issues as you do. I have cysts/blind pimples that no products can touch because they are so buried under my skin. -_- But if you can figure out how to clear your skin, I can too. I’m going to try probiotics from your previous post. 🙂
Just found out I have this condition too! Does it mean…I won’t be able to use Missha time revolution anymore? 🙁
Yay can’t wait for the post! I’ve lately been wondering if I’ve developed seborrheic dermatitis. I’ve had acne since I was 10, but I’ve had some next level skin problems on my face/ears lately. It’s both dry and oily, can get very itchy, lots of yellowish flakes, bumps, redness etc., it’s a huge mess lol. So I think this post will really help me out. Quick question, do you think it would be a bad idea to use an anti-fungal shampoo such as Nizoral on the face? Thanks for all the effort you put in your posts I really appreciate it 🙂
Hi! Firstly I just wanted to say how much I’m looking forward to this post! I came across your site at some point and remember reading about malassezia which is what I was struggling with on my forehead and could not, for the life of me, figure out why these small pimples were not responding to normal acne treatments. Until I read your posts! All I can day is THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. My forehead is pretty much clear now My biggest culprit where oils and moisturisers. I’m using Cerave PM and that has changed so much in such a short space of time. Can’t wait to read what you have in store. 🙂
Waiting eagerly for this fungal acne post! ?
Yes! Anxiously awaiting this article! I hope your grandma is happy in her last days and don’t worry about the wait, she is most important.
I believe I have this condition. I stopped all skincare except facewash and I do wear an oil-free foundation.
I used to use Nizoral for a while but it seemed to stop working after a few months, and same happened with this special zinc soap I was using.
Now I’m using Lotrimin Ultra just on my forehead and Milk of Magnesia ( I know it’s terrible because the Ph is too high but it keeps my skin from getting too oily which feeds the yeast) and seems to be helping but I don’t know how long it will be until the yeast get used to it.
I have read somewhere an underlying cause could be candida, so that diet could help. Anyways, just thought I’d share what I’m doing in case it may help someone for a time.
Hi there,
My son is 13 and struggles with horrible acne……I think we have discovered that he has fungal issues so we have changed his routine, etc…..things are getting a bit better but I’m worried that the product that he uses to style his hair is affecting his forehead and sides of his face. Any suggestions on a product that you would recommend to him?
